Very pretty 2 carat amethyst brooch created from yellow gold with rose gold applied flowers at either end. Note the early safety pin and chain for extra security. These were used before early forms of safety clasps as we know them were invented around the 1890s. This pin is stamped with the maker's mark, A.J.C. and also is stamped 9 ct.
